Hi I started oven about 3 weeks ago I'm in frosty Aberdeen.ithe oven is 42 inches x 42. It's kind of half built but I was just wondering if anyone Has used vermiculite to coat on top of the insulating blanket or does it have to be fire cement? Thanks Doug

Vermicrete (vermiculite & cement at 10/1) is routinely used over blanket insulation; normally on top of a chicken wire cage to stop the insulation blanket being compressed. You will then need something on top of the vermicrete to waterproof it.

I think ive read somewhere on here (could be wrong) a 3" coating will need 3 100 litre bags for a 36" interior oven.
