Hello everyone, I thought I best introduce myself. I'm Simon for sunny Manchester. I've been looking into pizza ovens for years now but always decided to wait to build one as I rent, and would hate to have to leave it behind for the next lucky tenant to use and abuse. However, I'm 30 in June and have decided to compromise and buy a portable wfo for a party in the garden. It seems to me the main option is the Maximus oven, (A guy at the local market uses one and gets pretty good results) but I have also found the Montana made by braga ovens in Portugal. They are slightly cheaper, and I prefer the look of it. I decided against the smaller rocket stove type ovens like the UUNI2 or Roccbox as I want to use this portable as training in managing a WFO. If anyone has any experience with the Montana oven as there seems to be next to no reviews on it.

Alternative - build a cheap permanent one, and just leave it when you move. I built a cob oven last year with 2 other people and we were done in 8 hours. A bit labour intensive, and you do need to find some clay, but cost about £30 all in.
I built my own from reclaimed fire bricks, concrete and ceramic insulation for about £150, it took 2 days.

G'day Why not leave the oven when you sell. It's a selling point at least in s/e QLD Australia.

Hi we purchased our oven from a company in chesterfield there website is www.woodfired-pizza-ovens.co.uk, we paid £350 for a 100cm model, are are really pleased with it, really cant see why people go to the effort of building there own wood fired oven when it costs more to build than to buy one fully assembled. and lets face it most people would not have a clue what there doing and more than likely end up buying or anyway.

I haven't really looked into pre made much as I wanted to build but I'd be surprised if it's cheaper... my bricks were about £150 and sand and cement lime etc cost is negligible. And as far as I know most pre made still require insulation so that cost applies either way you go and the impression I have from things iv read is that pre mades generally don't have the performance of brick ovens especially over longer periods of cooking. But for me the main reason of building a brick oven is the challenge and the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction

think this is the pre made oven being made, not bad for the money but dos,nt seem much insulation under the floor or over the dome.might struggle to keep the heat in the oven www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcAXJbhFqlg

I have never used Montana. I am using ilFornino Professional series WFPO from last year. From my experience I can say that this is one of the best WFPO. I recommend you to buy ilFornino istead of Montana. Check their website : www.ilfornino.com/
