Hi all,
Really exited to read through the threads and build up my WFO knowledge.
I have started to build my WFO and the aim is to use as many recycled / salvaged materials as possible.
I have got to the floor stage with my base built. I have 100mm to cast a floor of which I had intended to have re-bar at 33mm height to counter act any deflection then continue with cement:sand:vermiculite mix. However are there any materials I can reuse such as glass to substitute for the vermiculite?
Thanks in advance.

Recycled or repurposed is the way to go; I tried and was largely successful but admit to buying vermiculite board because it was best suited to my build. Im in the Wild West of Devon, a bit too close to Cornwall, whereabouts are you ?

We are in the slightly more sheltered but equally wet Mid-Devon.
I was going to include the glass in the floor construction under the fire brick floor in the concrete. I can't decide weather the glass bottles go in whole or smashed up. Where did the vermiculite board go?
