Thanks for having me
CobblerDave  introduced me to this forum after I expressed a desire to build a wood fired oven.

Bit about myself,  Known as Smokey or Smokey Mick on various barbecue and cooking forums.  I run the "Aussiecue"  forum for back yard cooks (where I know Cobbler Dave from) 
I live at Tweed Heads just on the border between New South Wales and Queensland and love cooking outdoors,,, Well all kinds of cooking really

Been reading around this fine forum and I decided to join because you guys are inclusive of all types of wood fired ovens.

A number of years ago I built an open fire pit that the missus took over and stuffed it with plants,,,, Now I'm reclaiming that real estate

Might even build in an outside metal fire box at the rear so I can opt to run it as an offset smoker.

Welcome, Smokey - sorry it's taken a while. You'll find plenty of barrel oven info in the archive threads, have a mooch around and keep us posted with pics of the progress of the chosen one. Combined baking and smoking in one installation always attracts extra interest. I guess you're coming into the build season down there as we're hunkering down for winter, so go on, make us jealous!
