Having now got my base complete (I will update my build log here), I am starting to think about all the difficult bits, one of which is the entrance dimensions. The internal diameter of the dome is going to be 900mm, so I'm assuming a height of 450mm. I gather that the 'golden ratio' comes into play for the height of the entrance, so I'm looking at 280mm for the height of the entrance. The thing I'm unsure about is the width; presumably if it's too wide then I may lose heat, but I equally don't want to go so narrow that I can't get my pizza peel/roasting tin in and out! Is there a school of thought on what this should be, or is it not really a big factor? I am currently thinking somewhere around 450, so half the width of the oven. Any thoughts? Thanks.

As you say, it needs to be big enough to be workable, so get your widest roasting tin and see if it'll fit, if not then adjust but there's nothing wrong with half the internal diameter.
