Every year the members of the Dan Lepard forum get together for a couple of days to ...just bake. Last year the event was held in Bethesda North Wales. Here is a couple of photo's from Bethesda..... www.flickr.com/photos/b5pics/5909460882/in/photostream/ There are a couple of places open to attend this years bash. There is a fee of £55 which is used to buy all the different flour's and accompaniments, plus meals for the event (cooked by the bakers). People who attend are keen bakers down to novices. The only criteria is a willingness to want to bake. For more info please go to ..... trefriwbaking2012.wordpress.com/contact... bakingweekend@hotmail.co.uk or post here for more info.. Terry

I went to last year's bash but am unable to go this year. Gutted But if anyone's interested in going I can't recommend it highly enough - it's a fabulous event and you couldn't meet a nicer group of people to spend a weekend with. And don't be put off if you are a beginner, the atmosphere is extremely helpful and democratic, there are no primadonnas and the emphasis is on sharing skills and passion for baking. … Plus anyone who dabbles in wfo baking has a kind of rock star status, int that right Terry? ;D Matt

Terry, i just emailed Joe and Jay asking if there was a place left to book me on it. I'm waiting to hear. HB, it's in a village called Trefriw, about 4 miles north of Betws-y-coed, the weekend of 7th and 8th of July. I think. I went last year and it's everything that Terry says it is. Here's my take on the weekend: nobreadisanisland.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/bethesda-baking.htmlIt was just a buzz from start to finish! Cheers, Paul

looks amazing, two problems that its a long old drive being the far into wales and more importantly the wife will be 1 week from due date and suggesting I swan off on a jolly might not be good for my health.

Terry 'Tight knit' but very welcoming community, as I found out at last year's event. Terry, I've got a couple of sacks of wood I'll bring for your WFO. Some of it is treated fence wood - is that OK? Terry, what happened, mate?
We were all gutted you couldn't make it, knowing how much you enjoy these get-togethers. All I heard was you were stuck in a car park on the Saturday, but hoped to join us for the Sunday.
What a shame you were unable to come. Jay kindly took the wood off my hands!
I'm in the process of loading all my pics on the Trefriw blog - when I've finished, I'll give you a steer.
The weekend was a blast from start to finish - only marred by your absence!
Cheers, Paul
