Hi from sunny Devon.
I have embarked on the WFO journey after looking enviously at so many great builds on this and other sites.
Have made a start on the base and just laid the concrete hearth a couple of days ago, no doubt I will regret the winter build but to be honest having returned home to the UK to finally live at home I wanted to do something with my time that would be productive and feed my love of great food.
Will start up a build thread to advise of progress and encountered problems and to invite comments and helpful tips.
No doubt will bump into a few of you in cyber land soon enough, please be kind.
Cheers
Gary

Welcome aboard!
Look forward to seeing the build although crazy time of year to start!
Any questions, ask away.

Welcome, also from a fellow Devonian, in name only.
Enjoy your build. Will be looking with interest how you get on. dt

I wouldn't worry about the weather, I started mine in the January and I'm a wee bit further north than you. Good luck with it btw!

Cheers people.
Bo - Will follow your build with interest, I certainly won't be rushing it but am keen to get it ready for spring if possible.
Am apprehensive about the build but also very very excited and absolutely craving cooking in it. I have already bought my brush and two peels in readiness!!

A little bit of "Start at the end and work backwards" is always nice!
Good luck with your winter build - probably the same as a Lancashire summer one!
