Hello All
I`m new to the forum, and I`m not sure if it`s the right place to ask (moderator please relocate to the right section if needed).
Looking through the forum but I`m so far unable to find how to "calculate the amount" of bricks needed for the dome regardless to the diameter.
Also, i noticed half bricks are not available in UK? 114x114? the only placed i`ve seen them where in on US web or it might be actuarial Australian web.
Does it mean that all you guys cut the 230mm in half??
Thanks

Hi Kris I purchased 200 230x114x64 firebricks for my oven and cut them in half which was surprisingly easy with a 9" grinder and a diamond disc. Bricks soaked in a bucket of water for maybe a minute.
My oven is 900mm inside diameter.
I am hopefully going to finish the chimney and outer arch this weekend while the weather is good in essex. I have about 30-40 bricks left i believe and will use about 20 to do the arch and chimney.
I also used these bricks for the floor
Hope that helps
Jay
