Hi All
I am a new member living in Cheshire,
I have ambitions to build a barrel shaped WFO.
A little advice before I start please.
Are there any specific regulations with regard to the building of, and operating of a WFO here in (a very wet) Cheshire?
From what I can gleen from the councils website, is that a WFO could fall under "permitted development" in my garden.
How about emissions etc when I am firing the oven?, - it is slightly different from lighting a BBQ with regards to smoke.
I am sure all this has been covered before, so forgive my ignorance if I have not looked hard enough.
Many Thanks
Nick

Hello Nick.....and welcome to the forum
There are Some criteria from government bodies but they differ from region to region. This was covered on the old forum in a bit more detail.......I'll try to find the thread.
There were a few disputes in the last few years of neighbours complaining, but as far as I can recollect......nobody has had to take down an oven. If you live in an inner city with a smoke free zone...this may be a problem, but Jamie Oliver ovens......and Liam from Dingley Dell both sell modular ovens with a certification from "Defra" allowing them to be used in smoke free area's.......hope you get a bit more feedback.

smoke control areas do not exclude wfo ovens as long as they are outside. If you have them under a roof the rules change. You would at that point require a "certified" oven, but for our garden builds we are ok.
like a BBQ or bonfire they can be complained about as a nuisance so do think about smoke / wind and how it might affect neighbours.
