I posted this question elsewhere (under 'general'. I'm a much better baker than a builder, but I have now got my build to the stage where insulation, foil and chicken wire is fitted ready for application of klc castable render, supplied with the kit (picture attached). On advice from downunderdave I intend to perforate the foil to allow water egress before applying the castable. I had also thought, after reading various posts, that I may then coat the castable render with a silicon silicate render which would be both water resistant and breathable. I am interested in ANY advice/experiences that may be of help from this point on. Please feel free to answer questions I haven't thought of!  |

It’s really (really) easy to put on and get a nice finish, comes in different colours, breathable and doesn’t crack. The only downside is that it’s slightly tricky to find and a few quid more than other render. |

K rend is one of many render manufacturers and they all, K rend included, have lots of different products that could be used. If you are sold on their brand a call to their Technical Dept to discuss the most suitable product in their range would be advisable. www.k-rend.co.uk/If this build is a kit and your render has been supplied with it then you should follow their directions as deviation could void any warranty issues.r |
