Hi everyone - I'm new to the forum so forgive me if I've asked this question in the wrong section.
I'm in the process of gathering materials for an oven on a budget, using a steel drum and storage heater bricks for the floor and over the top of the drum.
My question is - do storage heater bricks contain asbestos? I've discussed using storage heater bricks with a friend, who has concerned me a little because he thinks the bricks may contain asbestos. I've trawled the net but can't really find anything to confirm whether this is true or not.
I'd be grateful for any information you all may provide. Many thanks....

Thanks for the link. It seems to be implying that if asbestos is present it would be in the insulation, not the bricks.

I would think so but if you know that they are from a unit manufactured after the date stated then you can be certain.
