How much should you expect? I haven’t removed the sand former yet, and the dome has been case for 6 days. I’ve filled the same cracks 3 times now, and they’re right through the dome. How much shrinkage should you expect? I’ll try and upload some images when I’m on my laptop later, can seem to do it using my phone

It depends on the mix you used and the most likely is too high a percentage of clay. If using a proprietary castable refractory ther should be no shrinkage. If using home brew there will be a little and if using a cob mix there will be a lot unless the clay content is below 35%

I'm not overly concerned at this stage as I haven't removed the sand former. I may use a damp towel over the dome to slow the drying, other than that I'll just keep plugging the gaps. I really don't want to start again!
