Hi there!
I am building a clay oven using powdered clay and sand with wood chippings in the insulation layers. I am following kiko dezers book. I have laid a layer of insulation material on the top of my base. I used bottles embedded in a mix of powdered clay sand (1:2) and then same amount by volume of wood chippings.
It has dried and is quite spongy and friable. I was wondering whether that’s going to mean the brick hearth above and the dome will not be stable and whether there’s a way of fixing this or will it be fine?
Thank you
