Hi all from, currently, sunny S Devon. Just come over from the Woodfired Oven faceache page from Holly and David at Manna from Devon. Stephen W gave me the heads up.
I started building my oven about 18 months ago then it all got a bit out of hand as it turned I to an outdoor kitchen, with a Weber and 2 UDS smokers..... I also needed to source the clay from the garden, devon clay is great building material, so we needed a digger to move 40 tonnes of soil to get to it.... well to drop the height of the patio and make a bigger drive 😁. So I now have a large mound of clay to start making it happen... well it would if Covid hadn't turned up as no sand from the merchants until 14th April...😔😔.
Put the 2nd thermal base layer of bottles and cob in the concrete pedestal today, so some progress made. Look forward to getting lots of hints and tips from the site.
