Hi All, Has anyone ever built an oven out of reclaimed Ruabon Red floor tiles. Would this work?

I've no idea what a Ruabon floor tile is but my arch entry is made from split roof tiles and works just fine. As long as your tiles have been fired in the manufacturing process then they'll probably be ok, but upon your own head be it.

Mate of mine up the road used exactly that but found, for the cooking surface, they started to crack so he has repaired the surface with a layer of fire-proof mortar and put a pizza steel on top and it works well. It all sits on a 100 concrete base layer. His domed oven is made of clay half-bricks held in place with cement and gaps filled with fire-proof mortar.
