Hi. Thanks for letting me in ! I’m experimenting with building a pizza oven from a Stainless steel beer keg. It will be run off three propane burners. The pizza surface and directly above are Travertine 12mm thick tiles. But without going too crazy I want to insulate between the tiles and the outer keg. What insulation would be safe to use? It will come in contact with the flame to some degree. Just want something food safe. Something like loft insulation would be ideal to put in the voids but not sure if safe. Cheers, Danny

Cheers, Danny Marble, limestone and granite as well as travertine are considered inadequate at the higher temperatures experienced in a wood fired oven, particularly the floor which takes a greater beating. fire.fsv.cvut.cz/ASFE13/Proceedings/THE%20FIRE%20PERFORMANCE%20OF%20LIMESTONE.pdf
