I will after Iv made mine , if I get time at work on Monday I shall make one to fit my pipe / chimney . I gona get some plate , get it red hot then form it over a point ( so it looks like a witches hat ) then weld some metal strips down underneath and with a slight bend in em l this will act as a spring to hold it in place when it's inside the chimney ( not the hat but the strips )

is this without welding? Could you take a slightly larger food can, cut the sides out and try to form a 8" ring to make it fit. Would be a flat topped job and Might look a bit cheap ...

Piece of sheet metal (i've retained a storage heater panel. Drill a small hole near the centre, then use this to scribe a circle. Cut from the circumference to the small hole. Start overlapping the cut faces of the metal until you get a suitable "witches hat". Drill and stitch in place with rivets. Then i'm lost for the next bit! Haven't got much further than that! All i've done is remembered a Blue Peter make your own Halloween Costume episode. Try a cardboard mock up then transfer it to sheet metal.
