Hi All Great forum, some really useful and inspirational stuff!
My question is this. I bought a KL veneto superior kit at the beginning of last summer but for several reasons didn't get a chance to build it, so only just embarking on it now. Reading the small print it appears that although unopened and stored dry, the WASC only has a 4 month shelf life, and the LWIC only 12 months! Is this really the case? It looks like it will cost me nearly £300 to replace -unless I go freestyle. any suggestions? Many thanks

Many thanks Refractory materials containing Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC) is tricky, but as long as it's dry and not lumpy it will be ok. As a substitute you can use the homebrew mix 3:1:1:1 sand portland cement, hydrated lime, powdered clay.
