Not much more done at the weekend. The last row was a bit of a mix of shapes to try and get a tight fit as possible. My bricks are 12" long and I'm thinking of cutting them into triangles to make an interesting keystone. The idea is to cement them all together to make a circle (keystone),then place. My arch is incorporated into the rows on each level(instead of a separate arch) and I wanted a picture from inside to see what it looks like...selfie time

Dome finally closed I used the angle grinder to make a better circle. My original idea of cutting the triangles and cementing together, before placing, had changed. Instead i cut the pointed bit off and made a 9 sided polygon as a keystone and cemented the triangles directly to the dome. It's messy but I'm very pleased. The very basic IT worked out perfect...well would of done if I cut my bricks better.

That's a great finish; however, you do know that if you try and point it out to your pizza 'customers' they'll just roll their eyes and wander off ...

Most people haven't laid a brick before, let alone a dome/oven. So they have no idea what a marvel it is

Bit more done today. Few more blocks laid, Two layers of 1" Ceramic blanket and vent/chimney started. I have spent ages trying to work out how to do the vent for maximum air/smoke flow as my landing is very thin. I cut thermolite block and firebrick at angles and set back the side bricks, this gave me 6" of vent. The blocks are a bit of a mixture, but it's going to be rendered so won't be seen.

View looking up. Needs a clean. I like the look of the ceiling after the first fire.
