Amazing job. Love the external face using fire bricks, really looks the part. Can I just ask how you managed to calculate/measure out the inner arch bricks? - as seen in image 20200729_155221.jpg (assuming this is not a kit build) Was it done with some form of witchcraft using an 'IT'?

I’ll bet your sock drawer is a sight to behold ! That is probably the most meticulous wfo build I’ve ever seen; very impressive.

HI LOL it was with just using the IT, its hard to explain,I may try and do a little video and post it, ive had a few others ask. There's a video of a build on youtube and the guy builds his this way, its done in time lapse so hard to see what he's doing, but I watched it over and over to try and best work out what he did. Heres the link youtu.be/NUJ_UKVEtps

Ah ha thanks for that tip! Having re-watched that video more carefully I think I have worked out your sorcery... the radius is a made with the IT brick 'face' part, while the course 'curve' is made with the extra piece of wood you affixed in the earlier photos, which is repeated for each segment of the arch.. have I got that right? One last question, how did you manage to remove the plywood board that the IT was attached to?? Did you pre cut it in half and then fit it back in?

No I cut it whilst it was in, thankfully I have a exakt saw, its a tiny circular saw, the blade max cuts is 18mm, i should have done somthing different really, probably not the safest way, but taking small bits out at a time worked OK, but i did think it was going to be easier with the saw than it was. Would opt for a different way if I did it again. As for the arch cuts I've done a very embarrassing video lol with a bit of detail about what i did, im going to add it to the link in the first post. I wont ever become a YouTube sensation I know that much! Hopefully it will help a little and not create a load of confusion
