I've got as far as first layer and brick arch, now considering insulating layer. Originally I intended to use chunky chainsaw chippings, as I have plenty. Then I found a 100 litre bag of vermiculite V2. I've read somewhere about confusion between perlite and vermiculite and their relative benefits. What's the latest thinking? I have an abundance of clay and don't want to use concrete
