Sainsbury's value Beef Mince is £1.25 for 400g at present, it may be cheapo stuff but its enough to make 4 burgers and they turned out ok, first homegrown lettuce of the year used as well!

ahh and as with any burger cheap or gormet some high quality plastic cheese not sure what they make it from but it does go so well with burgers for some reason. Looking good, fresh home grown salad is always great, how have they held up with our previously dry start to the year and recent deluge? from a recipie stand point, do you use egg yolk as a binding agent and do you use break or cracker crumbs also?

I use egg to bind them, and ive had the salad in a cold frame so it hasnt affected the greens too much

I used to use egg, but I tried a recipe for meatballs recently that used jacobs crackers (blended to a fine mix) as a binding agent and they came out very nicely, I think I might try a reduced qty in burgers next time I made them and will post back on the outcome.
