I built a wood fired oven with much help from this forum several years ago. It hasn't enjoyed anything like as much use as I had anticipated and has been more decorative than functional (but it does work well). It was finished with k-rend and, a few years later I added some masonry paint . The K-rend has cracked and the paint has flaked and the whole thing looks a bit sorry for itself. I've finally got an opportunity to do some repairs to it and am looking for suggestions as how best to approach the fixing of it. We are in two minds as to whether to move at some stage so I don't want to strip it back and start the casing again and spend a massive fortune. However, I want things to look reasonable. What is it best to use to deal with the cracks in the dome? How about the interface between the flue and dome (I used fire cement a few years ago to address some cracking but it hasn't been very effective)? Finally, can you recommend some paint that adheres well to K-rend and which may work reasonably well with any sealants placed in the cracks? Many thanks Ian
