Iv been at again at work , you know how it is , a few spare mins ;D I found a bit of plate , cut it to the shape of my opening , I didn't like it to much just like that , so I had a root and found some 1" angle to sort of frame it . I put the bottom piece on and the sides ( welded ) , then welded one corner of the top piece then got burning gun out to get it red hot , then hammered it round to get the bend . I found some 1/2" bar to form the handle , warmed up then bent and welded , happy days . I think I might make some air vents in it some how ( slide ones ) if I can be bothered .

looks very good to me, better than you can buy as its made to measure :-)
did you put some sort of insulation in it, or do you plan to seal some in?

No I'm not going to bother insulating it , it's only going to be used when I'm not burning , it looks better with it , keeps weather out and when the fire dies down I put some logs in the oven to dry out a bit more . If I do some slow cooking I will insulate it ( I will have something at work )

I think its rustic look really fits the general earthy look to a brick oven, really does finish it off as an object to look at as well as use.

It's 3mm plate with some 1" angle to frame it , it is a bit chunky ( weighs a bit ) .
I like the rustic look , all ways have , I use to work as a antique furniture restorer ( 10 years ) . So I do like old looking stuff
