I have been looking at a pre-cast dome as a starting point for a future (when I have the dosh) oven build (my first) and am leaning to the very reasonable looking ones available at Woodfire Gourmet.
I was wondering if those on the forum who have ovens with cast floors could give me an opinion of whether I should go for a cast or firebrick floor?
Are they as long lasting and more importantly do they cook pizzas as well!
Many thanks

the fire bricks are a lot easier to replace if needed and the small qty for the floor should be fairly comparable cost wise if all ordered from the same supplier.
smaller quantities might also be possible to find second hand from rubbished builds, which would be greener than wasting the bricks.

I have used both and personally I like the firebricks as they look much nicer, (Usually a nice colour) Whereas concrete is just grey, When I cast my floor I wasn't happy with the finnish so I polished it with diamond pads, Now it's like a mirror. (I chose the cast route this time as the oven was going to be mobile andtherefore I wanted less parts which could move around.
