The oven is working fine, it survived the winter quite well. ************** Sipde..I have reduced the size of your image as it was affecting the "20 latest's posts" feature..Hope that's OK...Terry

Hey sipde
Great looking picture.......and nice PIzza.
If this is the first time you've fired your oven up this year, it probably took a little longer to get heat into the oven......next time you use it you will see a marked improvement on heat up times/heat retention etc.
Terry
p.s.....your picture was a bit big.....it tends to cut off half the post when too big.

Just reminds me of last May when I did my entire build with this kind of weather, the problem then was not letting stuff dry out too fast, keeping the sun off. The oven was left uncovered for the whole month.. When the "British Summer" turned up, attention turned to keeping the thing dry and the "temporary makeshift" tarp became a garden feature :-) The local squirrels come down from the trees to drink freshly collected rainwater from the folds in the trap :-)
Building work for me on the sunny evenings... How does the saying go..? "Bake Clay while the sun shines" :-)

Muddy-I don't know about confidence, and I sure didn't have a skill set! I just decided to do it and after reading lots of stuff ( a lot of it here) we went at it. There are some things I would do different if I were to do it again, I would lower the ceiling and probably do away with the chimney since I have discovered once it gets hot there isn't any smoke, but all in all I am pretty happy with it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Eveybody here is really helpful and should you decide to build I'm sure you will get all the advice and assistance you need from these guys! Glad you like it! Thanks

Normally I don't mess with peoples photo's, but ...as I said....this time it was pushing half of the post off the page.....shame if someone missed something.....especially that last pic.
Please....keep em comin.

I reached chip nivana last night!, with the nice weather, I fired up the chip pan on the bbq ring and cooked crinkle cut chips in beef dripping. Dried them off and used some of the best commercial sauce available (my taste, its not posh but lush) Hammonds! Only available trade (or chinese supermarket in my case!)
