Hey folks,
Just joined here thought i would say hello ! I have decided to build a Pompei oven (44" 140 brick jobby) as per the Forno Bravo plans, i have laid my concrete found and have been looking for fire bricks ever since ! I have since been pointed in the direction of Kiln Linings who seem to be very reasonable on price. can anyone advice what size brick i need to use or is best to use ?
Cheers
Richie

Welcome Richie, you will find us a helpful crowd, the more so if you keep us up to date with pictures of your progress!
Regarding brick sizes: in my opinion, you'd be best to buy the most common sized ones, or in other words, the ones that get you the most bulk for your money. Special shapes, tapered bricks, etc., cost an awful lot more than common-or-garden sizes, and what you save by getting the cheaper bricks you can spend on a decent angle grinder or a mitre saw and the diamond blades that you will need to cut your bricks. Because you're going to need to cut a lot of bricks to build a Pompeii oven.

Hello Richie.....welcome aboard, and nice to see you on the forum. I hope you received the links to Liam and Jewsons. A lot of people use these 2 discounted suppliers as it saves a lot of your hard earned cash. Many others have found suppliers in their own region.....I hope you get a bit of feedback to suppliers in your region. Terry n.b..We have recently moved our community to here from... woodovenukforum.forumup.co.uk/index.php?mforum=woodovenukforum ....there is such a load of stuff on our old forum which is invaluable when building a wood-fired oven, but you need to register (free and takes 2 minutes)....to be able to see pics and links .....one of the reasons we chose proboards to carry on our community.
