Hi, awaiting delivery of a vitas Pompeii oven. Still considering the design of this. Would value any advice or pictures for ideas. Not looking at a massive structure!

hi ej,
welcome aboard. For oven finish there are a few things to consider,
stand: on its own or with other structures, BBQ or just a space for pizza prep. storage: most have wood stores underneath. If using the whole area then the hearth needs extra engineering Diego the large span and weight suspended. enclosure / render: will you make a house for it to live in or keep its igloo shape. materials: what will you construct the base, house or render with. These materials can make a big difference to the over all look. position: it will be big, but if close to things do you want to complement that design or material etc.. ethos: its possible to use a lot of cement so not so green, does thus matter to you.
we have builds here done almost completely with recycled materials, we have wood sleeper breaths, igloo ovens or their in a house and a few multi unit proper outdoor kitchens.
we are newly here on this new host, if you google there is our old board under forum up and you can register there to browse the extensive build diaries for inspiration. You can't post and unfortunately we are inhalers automatically restore the threads from there to here. Most members are over here so if you see something you like feel free to ask for more info.
we are a friendly bunch, but there is so many choices its best to let you find your own initial way.
the largest site / forum is forno bravo, they are very USA centric but have a gallery in the forum to look at specific build parts, enclosures or stands, or just complete ovens to get ideas.
I look forward to hearing what you like, and feel free to ask anything, there are no stupid questions just stupid answers.
enjoy your stay

Hello ej.......welcome to the forum.
You can also do a google search for "wood-fired ovens"..and then click the image option......it will give you pages of pictures of ovens.
Which model of the Vitcas oven are you buying?
