Anyone used defrosted dough balls to make pizzas? Apologies if I'm sinning even thinking about it. I can get them in bulk and thought they might be easier than making the dough yourself. I guess the pizza chains probably use pre-prepared dough balls.

pretty sure they take them and then put them into a specifc room to defrost and prove and then use them. I am sure the method is sound, I think folks might like to make their own and experiment, but sounds like a top cheat if having a large party I think some folks actually make their own dough balls and then freeze them ready for use. I am not at that stage yet so can only go on what I have seen on youtube for pizza base creation.

Cheers Turkey.
I'll give them a try (always up for trying various methods to get that perfect base!) and report back.

I have frozen my own dough. then let it defrost and then either bake it as a small loaf or a pizza base ... and as a base I think it much crispier.

Have to agree with Happy Baker, we freeze our excess dough, and when defrosted seems to create crisper bases.

Your local pizza shop will sell you dough balls at about 25p for 200g then you can freeze it yourself or you can buy a box of frosen doughballs for about 19p for 180g but you will never beat fresh home made once you get your formula right or you can have a "bring your own dough" party
