Had an afternoon at Beamish Open Air Museum on saturday afternoon. I visit regularly (their entry is actually a year pass) plus its 2 mile away lol Anyway thought i'd post some pics of their recently constructed Communal Oven for their Pit village. Its about 10ft high overall and has a brick hearth. Cant give you much extra info *UPDATE* FULL OFFICIAL INFO HERE www.beamish.org.uk/communal-bread-oven/Thats a big dome!

Sorry for the delay I think its the same guys that have just finished the church www.beamish.org.uk/eston-church-rebuild-progress/For people that havent been to beamish, its basically about 2-3 square miles of North East countryside with a Pit Village/Town/Train station and farm based in 1913. There is also a manor house and old engine waggonway from earlier. All the buildings have been rebuilt brick by brick from around the region Ive heard its a little like the black country museum, although ive never been there Pit Village where oven is town Most importantly the coal fired fish shop!
