I have rendered the oven and the weather has been testing my work already one thing I noticed is there seems to be water seepage at the joint between the render and the firebrick , is this normal or have I done something wrong? and hints or tips would be gratefully lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6TOuH17F-1w/UD-zVPV41qI/AAAAAAAAAAk/O9gFEGoa4Q0/s144/IMAG0055.jpglink as I am on my phone and for some reason no image site seems to work that well with mobile, Pisces uploaded fine but its crappy ideas of image links don't work here sorry.

I don't think the link works?
.....you need to delete the letters br/> from the front (which aren't visible in your link)
Hope this makes sense?

Here is turkey's pic. lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6TOuH17F-1w/UD-zVPV41qI/AAAAAAAAAAk/O9gFEGoa4Q0/s512/IMAG0055.jpgI have a similar joint in my render/brickwork. I haven't noticed any leaks so far but I am going to have a good look as we had some heavy storms yesterday. I think a bead of mastic pushed in to the crack is what is needed, but it would need to be heat resistant to the temperatures that the brickwork will reach. On my oven this seems to be over 100 deg C when the oven is being fired hard.

Turkey, I doubt its a leak, more likely the effect of rain running down the structure or maybe wind pushing the rain. Slight gaps between the firebrick and render could well hold small amounts of water that are a little more difficult to evaporate. Of course if it is a leak, sealing it will just keep the water inside rather than letting it escape

Perhaps I will leave it broken for posterity as I am not sure what on earth has happened. Edit, I have found the issue, it was the forum software miss representing a space as a line break in html code (br) and I assume somehow it then wrapped it up into the link. Faz link is much better as mine is still somehow a thumbnail lol
