Something popped into my head last night, and i'm going to throw it out for a few opinions.
Breather membrane (one way roofing felt). Stops water ingress, but allows water vapour to exit.
With Cob and non Cement based builds (like mine) there is an issue with breathabilty if your not wanting to build a roofed shelter. Some thing like this may be an option.
I'm wondering if a layer of one way building fabric, over, or under the Vermiculite layer pre-rendering may provide another possible attempt at keeping water out but allowing moisture evaporation from the structure?
It really depends on the risk for the builder i suppose. I have no experience yet, of how much heat escapes the mineral wool layer, or the vermicrete layer. Has anyone fired up an oven and tested the heat loss?
