Well at last it looks like I have sold my large mobile oven, For my next project I wish to try something completely different. Despite my scepticism I'm going to have a go at casting a lightweight oven and install it into a lightweight van (Suzuki carry/hi-jet type) So my big question is. What do you think the ingredients are for a lightweight oven? Thank's all

Interesting question. If we start from scratch then you want, then the material needs:
- ceramic properties ie something with resistance to thermal and chemical shocks, - mechanical strength, though not necessarily a lot once in situ, - homogeneous properties, if a mixture, - other
Not being a materials scientist, I'd probably start experimenting with various mixtures of ceramic cement and either perlite/vermiculite. Something fibrous might help but can't think of anything offhand.

Would something like a crushed Terracotta or Grog be useful as an aggregate? I keep banging on about it but Hydraulic Lime is lighter than OPC also i believe. maybe this? www.phelly.com/Ceramic%20Powders.pdfdepends on cost and how easy to obtain materials. there are probably Glass Fibre meshes that could be used for reinforcing layers also.
