It's official, after much lurking and umming and arring, I'm taking the plunge... My 36" Pompeii build is days away from starting - and I'm bricking it Still debating whether to have a chimney or not (thanks to all those who gave advice on my first post) I've also got no real idea on what sort of door to use. I like the look of the Vitcas doors, but am wondering if they are over-kill (read over-expensive...) Any views? Would love to hear what you guys have done with your doors - any advice would be very welcome! Thanks! Kyp.

I looked at some vintage doors on Ebay but like most i'll be making a composite plug type door of Metal, insulation, and timber.

I used a couple of 1/8"mild steel plates with a ceramic board in the middle.

bricking before the build is cheating, save all the brick work for the main event lol.
I have my oven but no door, tbh I think I will enjoy building a door of some sort next summer, probably just go with a thick slab of some wood or another possibly with a metal reflector plate on the oven side, all part of the home build fun :-)
