You may be used to email notifications of updates to a thread you have posted on. The new forum is a little less intrusive and more configurable with notifications. Here's how it works...
Whether or not you post to a thread you can click the
button found near the top-left of any thread. This will create a bookmark in your forum user profile (not in your browser.)
By default email notifications are switched off. You can change this in your profile by clicking
button near the top of the screen. From there, click 'Bookmarks' then click 'Manage bookmarks' over on the right.
From here you can specify the default behaviour for all new bookmarks or for each individual bookmark you have. You can choose to receive email, a PM or nothing.
If you choose email notifications, you will only receive 1 email when a thread is updated, not 1 every time there is a post, until you check-in.
Far beter than the old system. ;D
