I just took possession of my new tuscan grill - how many members have one, and what do people think of them being used in the WFO? I'm hoping to be able to use this on a regular basis for steaks, chicken, kebabs, and for roasting veggies, amongst other things. Anyone got any tips? Attachments:

Got us a couple of T-bone steaks and did them on the tuscan grill, as well as doing some veggies on the griddle plate - amazin' flavours. Why do things taste so much better done with wood fired ovens? Attachments:

Here's the cast iron griddle plate in action - you just can't beat the smells and flavours - and I don't think there is a healthier way of cooking either. Attachments:

It is stainless steel, got it from a local fabricator and it cost me dirt cheap at ten quid because he was doing it as a one off

Tom
Love the grill. It always amazes me how versatile these ovens are.
One of the newest things I've been introduced to lately was by Jay from Dingley Dell who used extra long metal skewers to put pieces of beef, peppers and onions on. He balanced the skewers on the grating he uses to keep his embers in place....and a piece of log toward the entrance of the oven. He also doubled up some kitchen foil and placed this beneath the skewers. On this foil he sprikled a bit of oil and chucked on more diced peppers whole shallots and whole garlic cloves ......and other bits. It probably took between 2 and 3 minutes to cook and while putting the stuff on a plate he chucked in a few flatbreads.......which were ready by the time we came to eat.......That was one of the best meals I've ever had.

Terry I'm going to use the tuscan grill to support kebabs and use the wfo as a sort of tandoor to cook meats on the grill and flatbreads on the floor of the oven. Versatility is the name of the game with these ovens; if you want to cook a certain way then with a little thought the wfo is really the perfect cooking environment.

I have used this cheaper option in my oven which is quite large internally. Attachments:
