Apart from pap which we have quite alot I love the middle eastern grains with braai food, they soak up the fat so well. Cous cous, bulgar wheat etc. It is also a good vehicle for sneaking fresh salads into the children.
I'm British born but used to visit SA lots as a child as Dad worked there. Lived in Venda for 2 years in the late 80's, then George for a year and worked in Cape Town for 5 years in the early 90's. Ended up marrying a Cape Town girl so still visit alot to see her family.
Good to see that you are trying to bring some basic braai skills to the Irish. I assume they are as hopeless as the Brits. Black on the outside and raw in the middle tends to be the norm!
