Anyone got any suggestions as best place to buy a single 25kg bag of powdered fireclay? I have tried Liam but he only does orders over £100 and even though Vitcas are local to me in Bristol the girl I spoke to didn't even know what it was. I see on ebay someone called AA supplies are selling some but I'm sure I've read on an old thread that its quite lumpy.
thanks if you've got any advice.

Hedgemonkey Have you tried these chaps.. www.bathpotters.co.uk/powdered-clays/c92 .....they're not far from you. It's worth a phonecall. I found a Kiln supplier in Newport www.celtickilncare.co.uk/ ...and he carries a limited stock of fire-clay. The day I popped in (I often do that if I pass any company that deals in clay) he had 2x25kg bags of dried fire-clay in stock. If you ever come over this way...he may be worth a call.(across that muddy river in Newport) Also you could try contacting Amrit Rowe www.wood-firedoven.co.uk/ ....he's a member on the forum but also a damn good wood-fired oven builder. He is not far from you and could perhaps point you to the closest supplier. (his contact details are on his website) Terry

Hedgemonkey
Amrit has a few 25kg bags..at his place. If you want a bag, he said you can contact him at info@wood-firedoven.co.uk
His address on his website is "near Bath"....so he's in your corner of the world.

Hi guys,
I am struggling to find any fire clay around Birmingham and to get some ordered I would pay for the delivery more than the actual clay price. Does any of you know where I could find some in drivable distance (1 hour drive)?

I can't understand why people other with fire clay and the homebrew mix. I just used fire cement £15 per 25kg bag, mixed with fire brick grog £15 per 25kg bag mixed 3/1. I collected from stoke the capital of kilns in days gone by.
