Love the new boards! For those that don't know me, my name is Bill and am in the middle of my first build. Barrel vault style. I have zero masonry experience and am an attorney by trade. I live on the coast in Camarillo, California... about sixty miles north of Los Angeles/thirty miles south of Santa Barbara. I have been to the Britsih Isles a few times. Ireland, Scotland, England...loved them all. Good Wiskey, good theater, and great fly-fishing...not necessarily in that order. Can't wait to get back to my build...been out of town...then we finally got some rain...now I've got a cold. Looking forward to getting some more stuff going on. And once again...I appreciate all the help that's been forthcoming from all of the experienced hands around here. Bill

Good luck Bill - I love California. You have a very apt name for a lawyer!

Thanks for the nice welcome folks.
The weather here is good, but you guys have the history. Any time I've gone to Europe I've routinely stayed in houses older than my country! Nothing neater than flyfishing all by yourself next the deserted ruin of a thousand year old castle...or staying in the house overlooking Musselburgh where Cromwell had his headquarters for his campaign in Scotland, and then checking out the ruins of the Roman bath on the same peice of property. We've got beaches, open space, and weather...but we're pretty light in the history department.
Any time any of you gang are headed this way make sure to drop me a line before you come....pizza and beer on me.
Bill
