Wasn't exactly sure where to post this thread but seeing as the whole process should finish with a Napoli Margarita pizza, I figured the pizza recipe section was close enough! No real blogging/documenting to be done here just going to post pictures of my San Marzano plants and hopefully eventually some sauce and pizza making! JK

Nice strong healthy plants and in Huddersfield, you must be using a proprgator.
I prefer sungold on mine now or a sweet cherry tom

We have staggered our toms as all were too close in cropping last year - ours are further on as you may expect. Been T shirts and shorts here last few weeks.
Aspargus just peeping out - peach trees in blossom and cherry tree blossom just coming on.
Rhubarb just about ready to eat.
Flowering broccoli for dinner tonight!

Anything that dares pop it's head up here gets frozen off!! I have had no luck here growing tomatoes even in the greenhouse. They just rot on the plant. I do not know if its the very acid soil or the fact that the veg garden is quite damp. I would move it but as we are hopefully selling this year it does not seem worth digging up and moving all the raised. Beds!! All the other veg love it there anyway.

Just to expand slightly, I'm a complete garden novice but do have a close relative who seems to know a lot and already had the seed trays and relevant compost and lots of advice! Apparently these little fellas may actually be growing too fast and may need planting out before the weather is consistently warm enough, so i might have to plant some more to delay the whole process!
I bought my seeds from Homebase of all places. San Marzano seeds are easy to find online but not so much on the high street but I was in Homebase a few weeks back looking through the seeds and saw a tomato selection pack which had 5 different, interesting looking, varieties so I thought I'd give it a go.
JK
P.s. I have a few san marzano seeds spare as well as 20-30 seeds each of the remaining varieties. I'd be happy to list the varieties and ship some seeds off to forum members who want to try growing some (uk only of course).

JK Me please......(if nobody has nobbled the seeds already)........I have already received a few things by post.....a T-shirt, some wood briquettes, a cook-book.....and other stuff, and even some live sourdough, which made the most beautiful bread. Gave acknowledgement at the time, but can't for the life of remember who sent the sourdough!! I can go and buy seeds, but it always gives me a special buzz when I receive something from forum members. Let me know if you still have some seeds and I can PM my details to you. Terry

Bob
Pick-up.....you never know. What corner of France are you based?
I've been threatening to visit Rivergirl for ages and I may be travelling down to Conzieu in Eastern France (30 klicks from Culoz) in September if the finances allow.
