This is sideways to the oven build. While I'm learning and planning my oven build I've come up against the fact that the house needs another door out to the that area AND this gives the opportunity to create a place to fry food, a dry porch for deep fat fryer/wok/proper balti cooking. Has anyone else done this?

Not quite what you have in mind, but i incorporated a chiminea in my base to allow it to be used as a fireplace and cook above. I cut the chimney off the chiminea and left a hole when concreting. The plan is to be able to cook above i.e large pot or wok, i also plan on building something above it to use as a smoker. It will all be enclosed with the chimney from my grill (haven't worked this out yet). The chiminea is in the middle arch(right of this picture) Neil

Thank you! Yes that's kinda the idea. Yours is part of the oven complex, mine would be on the way to it. House is an old farmhouse with two doors on one side and none to the back and I hate frying inside. Balti/stir frying make a massive stink of oil. I'm thinking gas ring for wok.
