Two venues this year
Grillstock harbourside Bristol 11-12 may
Grillstock Albert square Manchester 8-9 June
A few of us met up at Bristol last year. We hope to be camping nearby this year so that we can do the evening , if not the whole weekend.

Just bumping this up as a few newbies have come on board since I first posted.
If it beats last years venue then it's going to be brilliant. Last year we all met up with doctor Sweetsmoke .
It really is a fun packed day and there is something for all the family. I have threatened a few of you with walnut planks ( amazing for cooking on the BBQ. ) so let me know if you are coming and I will get Richard to cut some. Terry I also have a bag of hazel shuzzings for you if you want them.......chopped down some hazel yesterday for beanpoles.

Yes R.G keep up the reminders, I will be there again at Bristol, it was a fantastic day last year, great food, great bands, great outdoor cooking demos and a great atmosphere. nothing like it anywhere.
I will have a plank please, I will swap it for a nice new tea towel i got in central napoli last year which will go nicely with your oven..

Will get Richard to cut them now. Dry ones are lighter for hauling over !! Have also got a sack of chippings (hazel) great for smoking ) but will not have room to bring them to Grillstock. So if anyone is near sittingbourne in Kent next time I am over they can have them!

I'll be there again this year. I'll try to organise myself a bit better this year so I can spend more time there.
I still have the beautiful piece of Walnut plank you gave me last year, so I'm OK on that front.
Looking forward to seeing yourself, Conic, Marcus? and any other members from the forum this year.

Don't be surprised if you see him alongside Steve ...or is it Al (Dr.S)....on his own stall with half a cow smoking away on some oil rig shaped grill.

Yeah sadly can't make either of them this year  but will be there for sure next year, work rotas are wrong for both of them. But I think, yes maybe in a years time I might have a go at this competitive cooking malarkey....and what a great idea for a smoker Terry  R2D2 Ian from Macs BBQ will be there for sure, and he always has them, make sure you get a few bags of dust too as I've tried to make my own and it never burns so well.
