Adrian Edmondson -(Vyvyan Bastard) visted Stoke today on his TV program and had Staffordshire Oatcakes, I have never had these so gonna make some.
The man he visited had amazing one off equipment to make them.
Nowdays they are known as Staffordshire Chapatis.

Re: Paul Hollywood's Bread. Not very impressed myself, nothing special, run of the mill with no adventure and I dont like hairy men up to their hairy wrists in the dough, you would have some trouble explaining the hair lodged in your teeth to your partner..hehe. Why cant he wear powder free nitrile gloves. There are much much better bakers on this forum
Now Oatckakes are really good from the right place but there are some horrid ones too. I am in Stoke often and you can even get a bacon & egg oatcake mmmmmmmm

Conic anything that makes people get off their bottoms and give it a go is fine by me!! His bakery used to be not far from us ( when he used to be on good food) he was a really nice person. Taking the time out to pass on hints and tips etc. with the cheap white sliced it always amazes me , how many people have never tried real bread!! I am teaching the children across our river English and the first time the had made bread or topped a pizza was at Christmas ( the Santa loaf) ....... Their father is the village baker!!
