Hi Adam, I fiddled on for quite a while before getting the template to match the arch bricks, but even then once I started laying them in place the last one to be placed needed a good tap down as the gap left was a little smaller than I had planned for. Try drawing out the radius for the arch then use two bits of card at 64 & 58mm to step the placement of the bricks. If you end up passing the horizontal point of the semi circle on the other side increase the radius a little. Just remember that the first square brick is not part of the curve so the arch starts on top of that level. There's a pic on my build thread of the template I ended up with. It was not my first attempt by any means.

Thanks for the reply moonhead will try that out tonight. Sounds like a better approach than I have had so far. Your template has helped though as courier lost the paperwork from kilnlinnings, so had no idea of order of bricks in arch until I looked at your build.

So at last I got it started 140mm of foamglass with a fire brick floor. Thermocouples under brick floor and at floor level. First arch, really struggled with the arches Fourth arch up

Got a gap between fire bricks and outer brick shell not sure what to put in here, thinking fire rope. Any better ideas?

Ah I see yes stuff the gap with firerope and seal with a good caulk. victas do cartridge rated 2370f I used it in my heat break
